New York State mandates that licensed salespersons and brokers complete 22 1/2 hours of continuing education courses every 2 years. For specific information and requirements click here to LINK to the NY Dept. of State.

The IVY Real Estate Education (REAL-ED) continuing education courses are designed to enhance and broaden the skills of the licensed real estate professional. You are required to do 6 modules which are 3 to 4 hours each. The modules offered ongoingly (Monday through Saturday) to fit into your busy schedule. DOS requires that Fair Housing and Law of Agency be 2 of the 6 modules.

For the other 4 modules the current topics include:

a) Real Estate Valuation.. b) Environmental Issues.. c) Basics of Construction.. d) Liens, Easements, Deeds and Closing

e) Real Estate Finance.. f) Taxes.. g) License Law.. h) Contracts and Leases.. i) Land use regulations.. j)insurance & safety..

k) COMMERCIAL INVESTMENT REAL ESTATE.. l) Leasing & Managing Property

* We at REAL-ED realize that because of the commitments of your job, it may be difficult to take classes if you are locked into a fixed schedule. We therefore offer continuing education courses on an ongoing basis. The 22 1/2 hours are divided into 6 modules, each 3 hrs. & 45 min. The modules are offered Monday through Saturday ongoingly. There are classes in the morning, afternoon and evening. Please call for exact schedule. You may take the 6 modules in any order and take as long as you need to complete them.
