Basic Computer Training

No prior computer experience required.


This class is where you will learn; basic vocabulary, parts and functions of your computer, using a mouse and keyboard, the desktop and simple tasks.  Students review software in word processing, spreadsheets, databases and a presentation program as well as sending e-mail. This class will include instructor-led presentations as well as a computer-based tutorial.


Outline

    • Learn Parts Of The Computer, Using a Mouse, Opening Files, Creating Files, Copying, Cutting, And Pasting, Saving Files & Basic Features of Microsoft Windows.
    • The basics of how to get around on the web; the basics of Internet Safety; and some definitions of basic terms.
    • Learn how to use the free, web based e-mail service; Participants will set up their own Yahoo! Mail account. 
    • Learn about the basic software available to you and the capabilities of that software. Word, Excel, Photo manipulation, and Music software.

This course is for students who wish to familiarize themselves with the basic techniques used for creating websites.
